The wilaya of El Tarf (/ɛl.taʁf/), (in Arabic: ولاية الطارف, in Berber: El Tarf, in Tifinagh: ⴻⵍ ⵜⴰⵔⴼ) is an Algerian wilaya located in the northeast of the country, on the Algerian-Algerian border. Tunisian, with the capital of the city of the same name.

Geography

The wilaya of El Tarf is located in the extreme northeast of Algeria on the Tunisian border. It is bordered:

to the north, by the Mediterranean Sea;

to the east, by Tunisia (Governorate of Jendouba);

to the south, by the wilaya of Souk Ahras;

to the southwest, by the wilaya of Guelma;

to the west by the wilaya of Annaba.

The wilaya of El Tarf is located largely in kroumirie, north of the Monts de la Medjerda and the "Bec de Canard", Tunisian territory sinking

in Algerian territory and rear base of the ALN. 

Economy

The wilaya of El-Tarf is characterized by two main vocations, tourism and agriculture. It has just over 72,000 hectares. The yield, depending on the means of work engaged, varies between 15 to 20 quintals per hectare for cereals, the climatic conditions playing, among other things, a preponderant role. For this year 11, we expect, according to engineers, a larger harvest although the wilaya of El-Tarf is not cereal-oriented. The tourist vocation appears through the diversity of its many and undeniable potentialities, as well as the historical and archaeological sites resulting from the passage of several civilizations, the stigmata are still present in several places and regions of the wilaya. It conceals certain assets, unique in Algeria and rare throughout the world.
