The wilaya of Sidi Bel Abbes, (in Berber: ⵜⴰⵎⵏⴰⴹⵜ l ⵙⵉⴷⵉ ⴱⵍ ⴰⴱⴱⴰⵙ, Tamnaḍt n Sidi Bel Abbes, in Arabic: ولاية سيدي بلعبااات It is a region with a strong agricultural vocation, whose capital, Sidi Bel Abbès, is an important Algerian agglomeration.

Geography:

 Of the 9,150.63 km2 in the wilaya, 3,660.80 km2 (i.e. 40%) are covered with steppe, 2,250.37 km2 (i.e. 24.59%) are made up of mountainous areas and 3,239.44 km2 (i.e. 34.40%) plains.

water resources

 This wilaya includes the following dams:

 the Sarno dam;

the Tabia dam.

These dams are part of the 65 operational dams in Algeria while thirty others are under construction in 2015.

Economy:

 The town of Sidi Bel Abbès has an industrial zone located in the town itself, to the east of the agglomeration, along the RN 07 towards Mascara. It is located in continuity with the current urban fabric and would tend towards a conurbation with the new extensions of the city. It extends over more than 434 hectares in one piece and has three main accesses.

 The existing industrial fabric includes the following activities:

 electronics industry;

agricultural machinery industry;

food industry ;

parapharmaceutical industry;

administrative offices;

other private manufactures.

Tourism:

 The Bleuze castle: the castle contains a huge cellar or a large underground tunnel; Jules-Louis-Joseph Bleuze who was the owner and the mayor of Sidi Brahim, was assassinated with his servant, in 1875, by Bouhadi ben Ganach who will be executed, while protesting his innocence.

The Perrin castle: this castle at the entrance to Détrie, belonged to a certain family who came in 1845, of French origin, "the Perrin family" at the time of the French occupation
