Elle a été transformée en S.P.A (Société par actions) en 1989 au capital de 2 254.100.000 DA, entièrement détenu par l’état. Elle est dotée d’un conseil d’administration et gérée par un Président Directeur Général.
Elle est rattachée au ministère de l’industrie .
